Employee Experience Manager at Vamp
WHERE DID YOUR TECH JOURNEY STEM FROM?
Vamp is my very first tech company. I have always been on the media agency side and made the jump three years ago. No regrets here.
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST PART OF BEING A WOMAN IN THE TECH INDUSTRY?
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST SUCCESS OR YOUR BIGGEST LEARNING OPPORTUNITY?
Working with so many different personalities and different roles. I have been able to learn so much and I absolutely love it. My biggest success was reinventing the values of Vamp. If you discover them rather then invent them, it can be the one thing that many different personalities and roles can align on. I think that is pretty damn powerful.
Technology is the fastest changing environment. I am in a people role and believe tech companies can bring that fast pace to change in the people and culture world too. Old school ways are out the window. We are seeing more women in leadership roles and more diverse teams and I couldn't be happier. We still have a lot more work to do but I have faith!
WHAT HAS YOUR OVERALL EXPERIENCE AS A WOMAN IN TECHNOLOGY BEEN LIKE?
HAVE YOU FACED ANY ADVERSITY IN YOUR CAREER?
As previously said, this has been my very first tech company. I have not experienced adversity as a woman at Vamp and feel lucky to be part of such a supportive organisation. My passion is building the ultimate employee experience. A company where supporting women is not part of their agenda, is not the company for me. The end.
HOW DO YOU THINK THE INDUSTRY CAN HELP WOMEN IN TECHNICAL FIELDS?
Education and awareness. The more we know, the more we can do to help shape a better future. We are one of the most advanced fields in business and I hope we can be advanced in more valuable ways, such as equality. We got this tech world!
WHAT IS SOME ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE TO THE NEXT GENERATION OF WOMEN IN TECH?
You are not a woman in tech. You are in tech. Don't let anything stop you, ask for what you need and don't apologise for it.
