Talent Acquisition partner 

The Lab17’s mission is to help enable tech companies to scale their teams and accelerate their growth - sustainably. By partnering with start-ups and scale-ups, we drive expansion and people development, helping businesses hire and retain as they rapidly evolve. We differ from the traditional agency model, focused on an embedded partnership approach. 
We have some pretty great war stories across the team, particularly from our two founders Nick and Simon, who have seen significant growth and scale throughout their careers with Spotify and SafetyCulture. They recognised a huge opportunity within the talent and people development space and wanted to straddle the best of agency, and the best of in-house TA.

Today we have a team of fifteen ‘A players’ who are equally as passionate about building a unique and tailored journey for high growth tech companies. 

We’re looking to grow our team to fulfil our vision. As a Talent Acquisition Partner you will work across one partnership, owning end to end delivery and engagement with key stakeholders. We’ve adopted a squad model to our teams, to fully embed ourselves in the tech world - you will be part of a larger squad with the Lab17, with shared goals and a really well defined team based environment.

The Role: 


  • Work on one of our core partners supporting their business growth, hiring top talent and scaling their function.

  • Take ownership of end to end hiring - job brief, advertising, sourcing, candidate management, offer and close as well as supporting with headcount planning and prioritisation.

  • Partner with the People team and hiring managers to build scalable talent processes. 

  • Implement new tools, ATS, software as you and your partner see fit. 

  • Challenge ideas and have the ability to adapt your approach to different stakeholders and situations. 

  • Influence at a partner and squad level. Recognising opportunities to present ideas or challenge other ones. 

  • Ability to support hiring efforts with reporting and insights for both partners and across The Lab17. Attention to detail is key to identify the unique opportunities when working with highly motivated people.

  • Passionate about recruitment and tired of a ‘cowboy’ stigma recruiting carries. Excited about having an impact, supporting and nurturing relationships and scaling a team. 

  • You know how to code…. Just kidding! But you’re passionate about tech recruiting and have a general understanding of the work and impact tech has on the ecosystem. 

  • A headhunter at heart! We know often the best people are the ones who aren’t looking, you love the chase. 

  • You’re real. Working with humans is never easy, you bring empathy and understanding to your craft everyday. 


The Goal: 


  • We think of our work like a product, and we set weekly and quarterly goals that help drive impactful outcomes.

  • Successfully help scale the team and talent function with partners, with the end goal always being focused on an extension of the partnership. 

  • Embody The Lab17 values in how you do what you do, and recognise opportunities to help scale our operations internally. 

  • Be that strategic partner on one of our partnerships by acquiring the knowledge of the org design, performance and engagement, to then be building teams with the right people, in the right team at the right time. 




  • Passion for your craft as a TA and get excited about the future of tech. 

  • Experience in full cycle recruiting, gained from either of, or a mix of internal and agency environments.

  • Ability to adopt a consultative and customer focused approach with our hiring manager community and create winning outcomes.

  • Ability to take initiative - you should be inventive in hunting for information and unafraid to ask questions. You focus on solutions.

  • Be the PM: be curious, validate, prioritise and work towards getting things done

  • Talent wins games, teams win championships: There is no “I” in TEAM but there is a “me” … we win as a team first and then as individuals. Both are important in the right order.

  • When you stop you stall: you’re a student for life embracing how fast we need to iterate, learn and move;
