Head of Customer Success at Hatch
WHERE DID YOUR TECH JOURNEY STEM FROM?
Having a strong female leader believing in me and my abilities to strategise, execute and grow a business, even when I had no startup or tech experience at the time.
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST PART OF BEING A WOMAN IN THE TECH INDUSTRY?
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST SUCCESS OR YOUR BIGGEST LEARNING OPPORTUNITY?
My biggest success comes from my biggest learning that there are so many amazing people out there who could do a certain job better than I could. This means that as a leader I can be vulnerable and open-minded to allow others to do the best work, and giving them the credit they deserve when they do a great job.
I think being in the tech industry provides everyone with unparalleled opportunities to network with the greatest minds from all walks of life. The diverse thinking that come together when working in a startup create some of the greatest ideas and products in the world.
WHAT HAS YOUR OVERALL EXPERIENCE AS A WOMAN IN TECHNOLOGY BEEN LIKE?
HAVE YOU FACED ANY ADVERSITY IN YOUR CAREER?
My experience has been amazing, thanks to the wonderful leaders that I now get to call my mentors and friends. The truly great leaders recognise the impact diversity can bring to their businesses, and are always willing to learn from those who are different from themselves.
HOW DO YOU THINK THE INDUSTRY CAN HELP WOMEN IN TECHNICAL FIELDS?
Provide more opportunities and don't always hire the same profiles for the same type of roles. Look beyond professional experiences and technical skills, search for women who have the right motivation and mindset, because they can learn fast and do a damn great job if they're given the chance.
WHAT IS SOME ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE TO THE NEXT GENERATION OF WOMEN IN TECH?
Be bold and never be afraid to bring your unique perspective.
